A search engine is a tool that enables users to find specific information on the internet. Using keywords entered by the user, search engines locate, sort and return associated web pages, all within seconds. Data is usually displayed by relevance first, then site. Most search engines allow the use of Boolean logic to refine your search. Others allow you to search by specific file types or by language. Short of knowing a website's actual URL, using a search engine is the fastest and easiest way to browse the internet.
