This new version of ASP is intended for use within the .NET Framework, a Microsoft platform that incorporates tools and services from various applications. The biggest upgrade in ASP.net is the ability to integrate code written in languages such as C#, Perl and Visual Basic. ASP.net also further helps distinguish client-side (Form) and server-side (Service) applications. ASP.net files contain the extension .aspx.
