Email Hosting

For businesses that don't have their own email server, email hosting is a convenient and easy method to have many email accounts. Essentially the email accounts are hosted on an offsite server provided by an email hosting company. Since the email accounts are stored on a remote server, the business is not required to configure or support email accounts - the email hosting company usually takes care of that. However most email hosting companies provide their clients with a "control panel" to manage email addresses, spam filters and virus protection. One of the key benefits of email hosting is the business is given their own domain name, email addresses and aliases. This is opposed to using a POP mail account (for example, Hotmail), which can look unprofessional for business purposes.
